I talked a new member named Scolenex, a panda loving individual who is not a moderator. Scolenex was able to change the title of his intro thread without using moderator functions. Scolenex only posted one thread, so you don't need trophy points or anything like that to unlock the ability to self-edit your titles. Editing the body of text in one of your pieces will not give you the option to change the title, that is a separate function. Scolenex explained to me that underneath the title on one of your posts. There is a tiny bit of text that says "thread tools". Hover your mouse over that, and it will reveal something that says "edit title." Clicking on that will reveal a gray box that is somewhat hard to read, but you can highlight your title and change it. In fact the editing process is identical for the staff and normal members, the L-O staff just have the ability to edit other people's titles too.
I have a question. If you change the title of your topic, will it render links originally connecting to it useless? As the web pages address includes the title of the topic in full. Especially, I have the link to my painting blog on my signature. If I change the title of my blog to indicate new stuff is on, will I have to update my signature too? Oh, and how can people see each others signatures? I checked the Preferences, and the Show Signatures option is checked, but I still see no one's sigs...
Oh, never mind, now the Signature appeared to my post, and everything works. Except I can't edit my message above. Is it a feature of this subforum?
Let's find out. Being as I am definitely not Scalenex and do not have moderator capabilities. I will deliberately misspell something here and try to fix it. I am Sparatacus!
Panda's are not bears. But back on topic, non-moderators should be able to edit their own posts on every post except for the Announcement Forum and the Archive forums (where non-moderators cannot post at all). I tested each one personally.
Thanks for confirming that. You always praise Scalenex about his good looks and demeanor, but you sound pretty handsome and nice yourself.
