A few WIP pics from my Stegadon, as promised. I am slowly working myself out of the "Oh No"-Phase now. Yesterday I finished magnetizing the crews for all versions. Now I need to fix some damage I did to them (and the howdah) during that process, and paint them.
Still not 100% sure about the skin. At the moment I am 70% sure I will keep it that way. What do y'all think?

...standby for pics. Upload fails from my phone...

...huh. Still fails from the PC. Says it is too large. It is 4MB, 7.9 are allowed..... ???

    That's strange about the pictures.

There's already a thread about the upload problems. I'm sure it will be fixed soon. Maybe I'll use a different way in the meantime, Google drive or so.

I had problems uploading as well, I eventually just used the link option instead of the image option, just make sure the URL path is .jpg (or other) and it should post into your message. Of course, will need to have somewhere you uploaded it like imgur.

I noticed this too. My workaround was to resize all my pictures in Microsoft paint (reduce by 50-60%) in order to bring the file size down. Reduces the picture quality drastically though :(

Haha I used that 20 years ago or so. Not recently though. I mostly use paint.net or gimp nowadays.

Will give imgur a chance tomorrow (if I don't need an account there. I hate making accounts)

Scaling to 75% using an app from the play store worked it seems.

    Thanks, guys!
I am pretty sure I will keep it that way, I thought about it really hard during the last two days and made some small corrections, and I think I like it now and further changes wouldn't make it better.

Yesterday I concentrated on the rest of the work: There are still pieces of the howdah that aren't painted, and the crew is in the works as well. Last night I used Liquid Green stuff to repair some of the damage I did to the Skinks while magnetizing them, and then primed and partially basecoated the parts. Going to work on shades and details on Saturday. Tonight is game night. :)

Like the Steg a lot, good job! I never realised they were such fatties from the back.

Yeah, it looks like "Steggy got back" from that angle. :D
But I wanted to show the skin and that is the biggest uninterrupted skin part.

Apply a Nuln oil wash over the scales but just try to get it in the gaps that will really make the scales pop, from what you were saying the other day you made the steggy sound a disaster, it's far from it. ;)

I already did something like that (only with Army Painter "Dark Tone" instead Nuln Oil) and it already made a difference. Not sure if I want to make it even darker, but I'll think about it. It does look darker in real life (I use a pretty powerful lamp and have it rather close to the models when taking pictures)

My main concern was the smoother part of the skin, that it looks too Barbie-style pink, and that the sepia I applied makes it look stained and patchy instead of darkening it. But yeah, since I am coming out of the "Oh No"-Phase now it doesn't look that bad to me either. The ONP makes it all worse. :D

    Three more pictures.
Two are resized and one isn't, seems whatever was the problem with uploads is fixed now? Nice! :)

Those are WIP pics from a few days ago, as you can see I painted lots of details. Good practice for my brush control skills!

The trick with the throne is:
    - the Skink Alpha and the Priest for the EotG have magnets on their feet, and I mounted magnets inside the throne to match them.
They stand there differently so I used four magnets.
    - I also made the side pieces fit with magnets, so they are removable to make the ring part of the EotG fit through. I built angled attachment parts from sprue parts so the magnets don't get in the way and fit properly.

The throne itself is attached to the howdah by using poster putty at the moment, but I want to use magnets for that as well. I just don't have ones that fit into the hole in the howdah yet.

...and I hope I can cover up those magnets well so people won't notice that the Skinks are standing 1mm higher than they should. From most angles you can't see them though, so I guess it will work

One of the main reasons for this extreme use of magnets is that I didn't want to ruin that beautiful howdah surface that I painted. Glueing stuff on there or drilling holes for magnets would be a sin.

Nice clean lines on the bits and pieces. I definitely need to get myself a couple of Steggos, they look great. I'll add them to my list :D
